Description
This is not traditional poetry. Nor is its author a poet in the sense in which we call someone that. "Samsara" is a book, in rhyme, of his spiritual experience — such as his path through life has brought him to.
It does not matter that the language, or certain of its forms, is in places archaic; it does not matter that, for the sake of the rhymes, the rhythm of the line is sometimes broken. From the very first page you accept that the lyrical hero, who overlaps entirely with the author, does not simply share his spiritual experience, but dissolves wholly into it, so as to entrust what he has learned to the reader and to pass it on with a kind of special ritual gravity. And so you understand that for him, the author, only this has any importance: to open the holy of holies of his soul to those who filled it in his physical world, so that they may read not simply his verses, but the soul itself!
