Description
Bulgaria’s natural complex is a combination of basic components: the natural environment, natural resources, and natural conditions. The following are treated as basic elements: geographical position, relief, natural mineral resources, climate, waters, soils, vegetation, and animal life. All of them take part, in one way or another, in the forming and the development of the country’s economic complexes and territorial units. There is a close connection among all the components, the development of landforms, and the structure of the Earth’s crust. Natural conditions exert a direct influence on the economic development of rural areas. Natural conditions precede the forming of natural resources and of anthropogenic activity. Every rural municipality in the region is marked by real natural conditions that determine the different kinds of natural resources, and is oriented toward the diversification of society’s activities.
